Most computer repair work can be carried out on-site and can usually be completed within a matter of hours. If, however, we diagnose a more serious problem with your computer – requiring it to be disassembled – then we would do this in our own computer workshop. Most complex computer repairs can be solved within 24 – 48 hours, however, this does depend on whether additional parts need to be ordered.

Although we are happy to carry out the majority of our computer maintenance work within your home or at your place of business, for more complicated repairs such as taking your computer apart, we prefer to do this in a dust free and controlled environment. We may also need to take your computer away if we require specialist equipment or the use of soldering stations.

Our number one priority is to ensure that you don’t run the risk of losing any important information from your computer and will always backup your personal files before any repair work is carried out. We will always try to save and retrieve data but if your hard drive has failed or your files have become corrupted, deleted, or lost, then this may not always be possible.

We can repair most computers & devices of any age, but sometimes this is not the case if we cannot obtain replacement parts or supported software

We never remove or otherwise touch your data apart from for backup purposes (which we’ll always go over with you first.) We take data security very seriously and are trusted by large companies with their most sensitive data.

This will depend on many different factors.

For example, how the laptop was handled after the liquid damage occurred and where the liquid entered the laptop. In most cases, the liquid is spilt over the keyboard. Luckily, most laptop keyboards do provide some waterproofing which would minimise the liquid travelling towards the motherboard and other key components.

If this is the case the repair would normally take around 1 to 3 working days. However, if the liquid has damaged the motherboard then you are looking from 1 to 14 working days.

We will always endeavour to carry out all water/liquid laptop repairs as quickly as possible but without compromising on the quality of the repair.

Laptop motherboards are extremely complex and, in some cases, the best and the most cost-effective solution is to replace it.

The estimated length of repair will depend on the model of the laptop and the availability of the replacement parts, as some motherboards are easier to get hold of than others. As a rough guide, a laptop motherboard repair or replacement will normally take between 3 to 14 working days to complete.

Most laptop battery replacements can be done the same day. If we don’t have the correct battery in stock for your laptop then we will order one and arrange for the battery replacement to take place on the day the battery is delivered to us. Therefore, most laptop battery replacements will be carried out on the same day, unless we need to order one in for you.

Most of the laptop software-related problem we see are in fact related to the operating system. If you want us to try and repair the operating system, then this can take anywhere from a few hours to 3 working days.

If it’s not possible to repair the system files, then we will look to reinstall the operating system using an official image and use the original product key.

Most of our clients don’t know what is wrong with their laptop, so you are not alone!

Our engineers are qualified to degree level and have extensive knowledge and experience of repairing most laptop problems. It’s not always possible for us to tell you what the problem is over the phone or email without carrying out our own physical diagnostic.  Therefore, we have designed a service package that covers this scenario.

From time to time we might ask for you to email us photos of your laptop problem. The reason we ask for photographic evidence is to ensure that we deliver you with the quickest possible device repair service and solution. Our experienced device engineers can sometimes use visuals to help them better diagnose a problem and in return provide you with a more accurate quote for the repair.

This will depend on the problem you are experiencing. In most cases, we can use our own operating systems to test your device. However, if the problem is related to your Windows or Mac OS operating system then yes, we would ask you for your password or where possible you can set a temporary password on your operating system, which you can change again following your repair.

Once the job is completed, we will securely destroy your password.

The only time we would access any documents or photos held on your laptop is if required to do so at your request.

We have an extremely strict code of conduct when it comes to the privacy of our client’s data. We only access files that are required to carry out a successful repair.

However, if we do come across anything that is seen as illegal under the UK law then we will have to report this as we are required to do so by law.

If we can’t repair your device i.e. ‘we can’t find the fault’ then you will have nothing to pay. However, this is ‘very’ rare as in most cases the reason the laptop repair is not successful is down to the actual cost of the repair, i.e. a replacement motherboard is required and the cost of the replacement motherboard is greater than what the client wishes to spend to get the device working again.

We always try to carry out device repairs without the need for replacement parts where able. But this not always possible or cost-effective.
